Sam Reiser Update
December 30, 2009
Sammy received the results of his latest scan yesterday, and again we have good news. The SUV rating in his neck dropped to 3.2. This means that he will resume the current chemo treatment starting this coming Tuesday. As soon as the cancer is eradicated in his neck, Sam can then start the stem cell transplant...until then we want to wish all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy & Prosperous New Year!
Chase Quartarone Final Fight
December 16, 2009

Chase Ryan Quartarone

May 22, 1993 to December 7, 2009

Chase was born and raised by his loving family in beautiful Carlsbad, California. He passionately embraced life with great love for his family, sincere friends and all sports; especially baseball. Chase was an outstanding academic student, created exquisite artwork, loved cooking, adored animals and fast cars.  He was dedicated to boy scouts, piano, and knowledge. He was captivated by launching rockets and potato cannons. Chase’s dreams included a ten thousand acre animal farm and one hundred horses.

At only 15, Chase was tragically diagnosed with an aggressive cancer. Despite his long battle, he maintained his strong faith in God and determined courage.

Chase is survived by his father and mother, John and Stacey Quartarone, his sister Haley, a large extended family, and a loving community. Chase will always be a peaceful warrior and caring spirit in our hearts forever.

Mission Statement

The Mitchell Thorp Foundation(MTF) is a nonprofit organization, commemorating Mitchell’s shortened life of 18 years and his five-year heroic struggle against an undiagnosed illness.

Mitchell’s strength and courage, along with the community’s support, collectively inspired the family to establish the MTF that provides financial benefits and emotional support to families burdened with childhood disease or disorders.

In addition, the MTF provides scholarships and awards to promising young athletes, like Mitchell, acknowledging their accomplishments in youth baseball as a player and role model.
