The 5^th annual Weekend Warriors was held December 9^th, 2006, and this year the Mitchell Thorp Foundation was the beneficiary. Weekend Warriors started 4 years ago in West Los Angeles among new neighborhood friends just out of college.  The participants are young professionals in the entertainment, real estate and finance industries of Los Angeles.  The event typically lasts all day and consists of 4 teams, with 6 man teams.  This year, the events included round robin tournaments in flag football, and dodge ball.  The event was then taken back to the home of Jake Bobek, where there was a barbeque and more games took place including horse shoes, darts, a putting competition and the all important beirut tournament. Weekend Warriors was able to raise $1250.00 for the Mitchell Thorp Fund, and thanks to Norm Liversidge and his financial services firm, who was able to match the amount raised for a total of $2,500.00, which will be donated directly to the Mitchell Thorp Fund.

Cyndy Bobek and her co-workers at Associated Bond Brokers, Inc.(ABBI), choose a family and/or fund to support in lieu of exchanging gifts amongst each other. This year their hearts go out to the “The Mitchell Thorp Fund”. The ABBI group all hold great hope for Mitchell’s recovery.
