On Saturday, May 14, 2006 Mitchell was honored to meet a wonderful man, humanitarian and a professional NBA basketball player to boot.  His name is Dikembe Mutombo he plays for the Houston Rockets.  Dikembe heard about Mitchell’s journey and wanted to personally come to the house and meet with him.  He gave Mitchell a signed autographed basketball and personally donated to his fund to help with medical expenses.

It was such an honor to meet this gentle giant of 7’ 2” with size 23 feet and a heart of gold.  The Union Tribune came out to cover the story.  We will update the website when it will be in the paper.  A photo of that day can be seen in the “Gallery”.
