The 1st Annual Mitchell Thorp Walkathon was a huge success with approximately 1,000 people coming out in person to show their support and approximately 500 more people showing their support by sponsoring participants or making donations. You’ve helped raise over $60,000, which will help ease the financial burden placed upon the MTF families.

In addition to North County, support came from all over the country.

If you were unable to attend the event and would still like to show your support, you can click on the “Donate” button and make a donation now.

Mission Statement

The Mitchell Thorp Foundation(MTF) is a nonprofit organization, commemorating Mitchell’s shortened life of 18 years and his five-year heroic struggle against an undiagnosed illness.

Mitchell’s strength and courage, along with the community’s support, collectively inspired the family to establish the MTF that provides financial benefits and emotional support to families burdened with childhood disease or disorders.

In addition, the MTF provides scholarships and awards to promising young athletes, like Mitchell, acknowledging their accomplishments in youth baseball as a player and role model.
